Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng is a scenic town in northern Laos, known as an adventure hub set along the Nam Song River and surrounded by dramatic limestone karst mountains. Formerly a rowdy party destination, it has transformed into an eco-tourism hotspot featuring kayaking, tubing, caving, blue lagoons, and hiking.

The town is surrounded by dramatic, lush green karst cliffs and picturesque rice fields, often compared to an Asian painting.
Key attractions include kayaking, tubing on the Nam Song River, visiting numerous caves (such as Tham Phu Kham and Tham Chang), climbing to viewpoints (Nam Xai, Pha Ngern), and, more recently, hot air ballooning.

Multiple natural, turquoise-colored, limestone-fed pools (notably Blue Lagoon 1, 2, and 3) are popular for swimming and relaxing.
It has moved from a chaotic, party-focused town to a more laid-back destination, although it remains a major tourist hub for adventure seekers.
