Overview

With 135 ethnic groups all throughout the country, Myanmar offers diverse cultures and traditions unlike any other. Within a short period of time, one can discover Loikaw, a dinner corner of Myanmar, filled with mysterious cultures and raw beauty. From ladies decorated with brass neck coils that extends the neck to a seemingly near impossible length to the natural beauty the land has to offer, one can discover the untouched gem of Myanmar.

DAY 01

Arrival Yangon

Welcome at Yangon International Airport. Transfer and check in at the hotel. Orientation tour Yangon if time permits. Visit the colonial area, Sule Pagoda – the landmark of Yangon City Centre, Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image. Finally, visit Shwedagon Pagoda- one of the wonders of the world. Overnight in Yangon.

DAY 02

Yangon - Loikaw

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Loikaw. Upon arrival at Loikaw Airport, transfer to hotel and check-in. Visit to the local market, reclining Buddha Image, Poke Phar Yone monastery, etc. In the afternoon, visit to the Dor Sor Bee animist shrines and finally enjoy the view of the city on top of Taung Kwe pagoda. Overnight in Loikaw.

DAY 03

Excursion to Padaung village (Panpet) (Kayan tribe) + Local Community Guide

Early in the morning (to avoid the hot weather) drive to Pan Pet, which offers opportunities for scenic hikes and chances to meet the local villagers – including the long-neck women (Kayah tribe).
Panpet village group is composed with 5 small villages. You can make half day or full day trekking for visiting Panpet villages.
In other villages, clients can observe traditional hand-makes materials, visiting their home and charting with them and observe their daily life.
They are not waiting for the tourists and they are running their daily routing by their own way.
Visit Salong Kana hamlet, to meet a local Kayan artisan, and enjoy a hands-on demonstration about how to make traditional, Kayan bracelets. Clients can also have a go at making a bracelet themselves.
Then walk to the last village, called Pemsong village. On arrival, clients are welcomed in a local home where enjoy a hot drink and a simple, local snack. After this, head off on a Short Trek, of 1.5 to 2 hours, leads by local community tour guides.
Along the way, local guides will stop and explain special cultural and natural sites, which are important to local people and their way of life. These include the village monument, and pagoda. A highlight is a breathtaking, 360 degree view of the surrounding, mountains.
Enjoy pack lunch or a special Jungle picnic. “Cooperation Project to the communities Kayah”.
Finally, back to first village by car and the trip ends in Rang Ku hamlet, where guests can visit small crafts shops, run by the famous Kayan people (popularly known as Long Neck Karen). Enjoy learning a few words of Kayan language and interacting with these fun-loving and artistic people. There are opportunities to buy local handicrafts. Back to Loikaw and overnight.

DAY 04

Exploring hidden authentic Kayaw villages (Ra-A-Pra village, Ray-So-Pra village and Htay Kho village) + Local Community Guide

Drive to outskirt of Loikaw to explore hidden authentic Kayaw villages [Remark: Due to road condition, we can use Van only. No bus].
After driving about 2 hours to Ra-A-Pra village, home of Kayaw tribe. In the village, all women are wearing traditional dress of Kayaw tribe, but we can see only one man who remains in wearing his traditional dress. Then start to trek to Ray-So-Pra village (about 1:30 hours walk). Visit in the village and observe their daily life. Then trek back to Ra-A-Pra village (about 01:30 hours).
Upon arrival Ra-A-Pra village, continue drive to Htay Kho village (CBT village) (about 40 mins), which is small and also authentic village of Kayaw tribe, where one can explore daily life of Kayaw tribe and participating their daily activities of traditional weaving, and chatting with them and visiting their houses. Enjoy picnic lunch at Htay Kho village “Cooperation Project to the communities Kayah”.
Visiting Church and small museum of Kayaw tribe to observe their tradition and culture.
Finally drive back to Loikaw (about 3 hours). Transfer to hotel and free. Overnight in Loikaw.

DAY 05

Loikaw - Kakku - Inle

Morning drive to Kakku. After driving 45 mins (14 miles) from Loikaw, stop at Khi/Lisu village. Walk to Khi/Lisu village to meet with the local tribes such as Pao’, Shan etc. Visit in the village and then walk back to moto road and continue drive to Kakku. After visiting Kakku, transfer to Nyaung Shwe (Inle). Check in at hotel and overnight.

DAY 06

Excursion Inle

Boat excursion on the lake. Visit to the local tribe market if coincides, In Thein Pagodas, Lotus petal robe & silk weaving looms at Inn Paw Khone village, Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda the most venerable pagoda on the lake, Ngaphechaung monastery, etc. Overnight at Inle Lake.

DAY 07

Inle - Heho - Bagan

We may visit to the Mine Thauk Orphanage school and Red Mountain vineyard. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Bagan. Upon arrival at Bagan Nyaung Oo Airport, transfer to hotel and check-in. Leisure on your own and overnight.

DAY 08

Bagan

Visit colorful local market, Shwezigon Pagodathe glory of Bagan,Htilominlo Temple-the best pilaster carving, Nathtaukkyaung -monastery made of teak wood, Ananda Temple-the masterpiece of Bagan, Gubyaukgyi Temple-the best mural paintings of 11th century, Manuha Temple, Dhamayangyi Temple-the biggest temple in Bagan, Sulamani Temple-the 12th century temple, the lacquerware workshop-the unique of Bagan, etc. Finally, enjoy the sunset on the top of a Sunset Hill. Overnight in Bagan.

DAY 09

Morning Cycling tour/Horse cart tour in Bagan and afternoon enjoy cruise

Visit of Bagan by cycling tour or horse cart tour. Bagan is the richest Archeological sites in Myanmar and once splendid and glorious capital of the First Myanmar Empire. It is the most amazing site in Myanmar as in every direction we look, we will see ruins of all sizes huge and glorious like Ananda soar towards the sky, and small, graceful pagodas & temples stand alone in the fields.
Explore unknown temples as addition to Tour Sightseeing in Bagan. Back to your hotel. In the afternoon around 02:30PM, transfer to jetty and take private local boat along Ayeyarwaddy River and cruise until to see Shwezigon pagoda and scene of Bagan.
Then sailing down and stop at little village Selan, river village.
[OPTIONAL: Enjoy cocktail at sandbank near Selan village by enjoying marvelous view over Majestic Bagan of spectacular sunset]. Cruise back to Bagan, transfer to hotel and free. Overnight in Bagan.

DAY 10

Bagan - Mandalay

Drive to Mandalay [about 3/4 hours] and on the way, we may observe the landscapes of draught zone and daily life of rural area. Upon arrival to Mandalay, transfer to hotel and check-in. Visit to the Kuthodaw Pagoda – the world biggest book, Shwenandaw (Golden Palace) Monastery. Finally enjoy the sunset on top of Mandalay Hill where we can admire the beauty of Mandalay City, Shan Plateau, etc. Overnight in Mandalay.

DAY 11

Mandalay

Boat excursion to Mingun (01 hour) along mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. During the river cruise, we may enjoy the fascinating landscapes of the river as well as the daily life of the people living along the Ayeyarwaddy. Visit Mingun pagoda – unfinished pagoda & the biggest ringing bell of 90 tons, the unusual Myatheindan pagoda. Cruise back to Mandalay and visit to Amarapura – an ancient capital of Myanmar, where we can observe the life of over 1000 monks at Mahagandaryon Monastery & silk weaving factory. Proceed to Sagaing, where we can observe the fascinating landscapes of the Ayeyarwaddy River from serene Sagaing Hill, the place of over 700 monasteries. Come back to Amarpaura and enjoy the sunset by crossing Over U Bein Bridge. Overnight in Mandalay.

DAY 12

Departure

Transfer to Mandalay International Airport for the departure flight.
