DAY 01
Arrival Yangon and visit
Meet with our guide / representative, transfer to hotel and check in.
Walking tour starts with Colonial Area as the city featuring the faded colonial architecture of the old post office, Pansodan Street with Colonial architecture Building and walk up to the Pansodan Bridge to make good photos of colonial area and bustling street. Continue walk to High Court and Mahabandoola Garden including the Independence Monument along the way and Sule Pagoda, heart of City Center. Then visit Chauk-htet-kyi Pagoda; to see life like Reclining Buddha Image in guest-receiving position with Buddhist Monasteries around the Temple. In the evening, visit to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda; one of the wonders in the world and noted for its religious significance and artistic beauty. Enjoy the sun-set from the Great Temple. Offer the Planetary Post which belongs to your Birthday with water, flowers, candle lights, and incense sticks. Then back to Yangon and leisure. Overnight in Yangon.
DAY 02
Yangon – Golden Rock (160 km, 4/5 hours)
Drive to Golden Rock (Kyaikhtiyo)-the balancing pagoda which stands on a boulder.On the way, enjoy the natural beauty and Mon villages. Upon arrival at the base camp, take the open truck in one and half hour ride to upper camp and check in at hotel. Visit around and enjoy the sunset from this unforgettable site. Overnight in Kyaikhtiyoe.
DAY 03
Golden Rock – Thatone– Pha An [3-4 hours cycling]
Truck down to base camp and drive to Thaton for 30-45 minutes.
Starting from Thaton, we will start bike for 3-4 hours until Hpa-An, the capital of Karen State, on the way we can stop at local restaurant or tea house to have local light food.
Then proceed to Hpa-An, on the way we will stop and visit to Kawgun Cave – 3kms from Hpa An Township. It is natural limestone cave, 60 meters high and 90 meters in length. You will find thousands of Buddha images in various sizes, shapes in ancient styles all curved on the stone. Then check in at hotel and leisure. Overnight in Hpa-An.
DAY 04
Visit Hap An
We will visit around Hpa-An including visit to Hpa An Market, Shwe Yin Mhyaw Pagoda, Saddan Cave, a natural cave that can be walk along 20 minutes and through dark tunnel. At the end of the cave, you can start a small canoe ride passing uder the stone cave and you can enjoy natural landscape.
After that we continue to visit Lumbini Garden at the base of beautiful Mt. Zwekabin with thousands of Buddha images, visit to Kyauk Kalatt Pagoda, which is built on layers of natural rock formations and we enjoy our beautiful sunset there.
Then back to hotel and overnight in Hpa An.
DAY 05
Hpa-An – Mawlamyine
We start rides to Mawlamyine, on the way we will take a short rest at Kawhnat-Kadoe Village, home of U Nar Ouk.
Then visit to Kha Yon Cave, a beautiful natural cave where locals come to worship and say their prayers to ask for good health and prosperity.
In the afternoon, arrive in Mawlamyine and check in at hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure and overnight in Mawlamyine.
DAY 06
Visit Bilu Islands & Mawlamyine
Transfer to jetty and take 20 minutes long tail boat ride from Strand Road.
After arrival on Bilu Islands jetty (Be aware on low tide that you might have to walk a little bit through the mud). Our first stop will be the slate industry. School kids even nowadays will have an old-fashioned slate board for the first grade to learn the writing of the Burmese Alphabet. Further down the road is a local blacksmith who is sharping the sickle for the rice farmers. The wooden houses are in great shape and an eye catcher. We will reach Ywa Loot Village, which is known for making smoking pipes. Watch the workers manufacturing their pipes in their local homes.
Lunch will be in a clean local restaurant. Other small industries we are going to visit are the rubber band making from leftovers of the rubber industry, the cigar rolling shop and rice paddy cultivation (seasonal).
Then back to Mawlamyine and visit Kyauktalone Pagoda and to enjoy panoramic view of the city and to enjoy the sunset from Kyaik Thanlan Pagoda.
Overnight in Mawlamyine.
DAY 07
Mawlamyine – Yangon by car
Visit local market – Zaygyi Market. Then drive back to Yangon and along the way you can stop at Zinkyaik Waterfall and Shwesaryan Pagoda. Upon arrival to Yangon, transfer to hotel and leisire. Overnight in Yangon.
DAY 08
Departure
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to International Airport for departure .
