This splendid and glorious capital of the First Myanmar Empire, Bagan is scattered with thousands of ancient pagodas and monuments standing to this day. Regarded as the most famous destination in Myanmar, it is unique in the sense that every direction you look, there will be many different ancient pagodas. Whether you wake up early in the morning to enjoy the peaceful hot balloon ride over the pagodas, or riding a 11th century styled horse cart around the ancient pagoda, Bagan can take you back to make you feel like your living in the old days. Bagan remains to be one of the richest archaeological sites in the world, and has been recognized as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 2019.

The tranquility of Bagan

Bagan is located on the eastern bank of Irrawaddy River in central Myanmar, and served as the capital from 9th to 13th century. Due to its location in the desert, over two thousand pagodas from ancient days still stands strongly, even though several earthquakes have destroyed parts of the city. Today, Bagan is a well-known destination where thousands of people come to visit for an experience in an ancient capital.
