Xieng Khouang & Plains of Jars

Xieng Khouang (also spelled Xiangkhouang) is a mountainous province in northeastern Laos famous for its mysterious archaeological sites and its heavy history during the Second Indochina War.

Plain of Jars is the province’s most famous landmark, consisting of thousands of giant stone jars scattered across the plateau. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site believed to date back to the Iron Age.
