Lustrous Loikaw

Located in the Karen Hills near the Kayan State’s northern tip, Loikaw is one of the least visited but one of the most picturesque places in Myanmar. It is also home to Myanmar’s largest hydropower plant that is located 20 km east of Loikaw at Lawpita Falls. Once off limits to foreigners due to a long history of conflict between ethnic rebels and the government, travelers are now trickling in to catch a view of the stunning natural sceneries and cultural sights.
