It was an important trading center in the 17th century under the Portuguese Adventurer De Brito. Today, Thanlyin is noted for its Deep-Sea Port Projects in Thilawa. Afterwards, visit the Kyaik-Khauk Pagoda, an imposing golden stupa similar to Shwedagon with a history of over 2000 years, where it perches on the hillock of the town. Later, proceed to Kyauk-Tan Pagoda, which is a pagoda on a small island, which is a tribute to Yangon’s River. On the way, stop at Bada-Gyi Village to see 41 feet high, 100 years old seated Buddha Image. Have lunch at the local restaurant to experience true Burmese taste.
