Yangon - Mandalay - Bagan - Mt.Popa - Kalaw - Pindaya (Trekking) - Inle - Yangon

dnh3The historical highlight of Myanmar combine with the hilly region to share the experience with ethnic by trekking in Pindaya.

13 Days / 12 Nights

Mandalay – Bagan public boat operates daily only from October to March. The rest of the months depend on the numbers of the passengers. It leaves at 07:00 a.m and the arrival time to Bagan depends on the season and water level. In the dried season from November to May, it can takes about 10/12 hours and in the rainy season from June to October, it can take about 7/8 hours only.

The authentic Min Kyan Sit boats (the property of Adventure Myanmar), made of teak wood are traditionally built and decorated, available on request for Mingun excursion or one day trip between Mandalay – Bagan. Our catering team is ready to serve delicious cuisine.

Trekking in Pindaya is not so hard and not so soft. The maximum walking time will be approximately two hours. The way is up and down but not so steep. Meals during the trekking will be traditional village cooked food. Trekking boots or sport shoes are recommended.

Rain coats are necessary (from July to September)

Accommodation at the monastery is very simple and we have to sleep in the main hall, men and ladies separately. We will provide mattress, blankets, pillows & mosquito nets.

Domestic flights on Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan (F-100, ATR 72/42)

Recommended to make all the year round.

Day 01 Arrival Yangon

Welcome at Yangon International Airport. Transfer and check in at the hotel. Orientation tour Yangon if time permits. Visit the colonial area, the Sule Pagoda - the landmark of Yangon City Centre, the Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image. Finally, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda - one of the wonders of the world. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 02 Fly to Mandalay & Visit Amarapura, Ava & Sagaing!

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport and flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, transfer to Amarapura – an ancient capital of Myanmar, where we can observe the life of over 1000 monks at Mahagandaryon Monastery & silk weaving factory. Proceed to Sagaing, where we can observe the fascinating landscapes of the Ayeyarwaddy River from serene Sagaing Hill, the place of over 700 monasteries, Kaungmudaw Pagoda - the magnificent dome remarkably seen from far away, silverware factory, etc. Continue to Ava (Inwa) and visit by horse carts to Maenu Okkyaung Monastery - built by the chief queen in 1818, Nan Myint Tower - 27 meter masonry high, Bargayar Monastery - well known for its wood carving with 267 teak pillars. Come back to Amarpaura and enjoy the sunset by crossing over U Bein bridge. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 03 Excursion Mingun & Visit Mandalay!

Morning breakfast at the hotel. Boat excursion to Mingun (01 hour) along the Ayeyarwaddy River. During the river cruise, we may enjoy the fascinating landscapes of the river as well as the daily life of the people living along the Ayeyarwaddy. Visit Mingun pagoda – unfinished pagoda & the biggest ringing bell of 90 tons, unusual Myatheindan pagoda. Back to Mandalay and visit traditional handicraft workshops such as, gold leaves beating, Kuthodaw Pagoda – the world biggest book, Shwenandaw (Golden Palace) Monastery – the finest of wood carving, etc. Finally enjoy the sunset on top of Mandalay Hill where we can admire the beauty of Mandalay City, Shan Plateau, etc. Come back to hotel and leisure. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 04 River cruise to Bagan

Early morning, after the breakfast, transfer to the jetty for the river cruise to Bagan. Leisure and enjoy the marvelous landscapes during the cruise. The boat may stop in some villages to get the local passengers up and down. Arrive to Bagan and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 05 Sightseeing Bagan

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit colorful local market, Shwezigon Pagoda - the glory of Bagan, Htilominlo Temple - the best pilaster carving, Nathtaukkyaung - monastery made of teak wood, Ananda Temple - the masterpiece of Bagan, Gubyaukgyi Temple - the best mural paintings of 11th century, Manuha Temple - huge Buddha Images, Dhamayangyi Temple - the biggest temple in Bagan, Sulamani Temple - the 12th century temple, , the lacquerware workshop - the unique of Bagan, etc. Finally, enjoy the sunset on the top of the temple. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 06 Sightseeing Bagan

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit Lawkananda pagoda, which has the fascinating river view, Payathonezu temples with mural paintings, Nagayon Temple of 11th century, Apyeyadanar Temple with mural paintings, etc. In the late afternoon, visit Minanathu village to observe the life of people. Finally, we may take the boat ride on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River during the sunset time. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 07 Excursion Mt.Popa (50 km, 02:00 hrs). Drive to Kalaw (240 km, 8/9 hours)

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mt.Popa-an extinct volcano which is known as “Home of the Spirits” and observe the life of rural area on the way such as producing the palm sweets. We may stop several places for making the photos and knowing the countryside. Climb up 777 steps to reach of top of Mt.Popa cliff temple and enjoy the landscapes. Come down and proceed to Kalaw. Check in at the hotel and leisure. Overnight in Kalaw.

Day 08 Drive to Pindaya (45 km/ 01:30 hours) & Trekking to Yatzakyi village

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Pindaya and enjoy the marvelous landscapes of hilly region with vegetables plantation, terrace-landing cultivation, etc. Upon arrival, trekking to Sikya – inn village inhabited by the hill tribe Danu about 2hours. And then take a rest to have snack and green tea. Then continue to Yatsakyi village, where hill tribe Palaung, who wears the traditional cloth, resides. Upon arrival, lunch and rest at the monastery. Then stoll in the village and chat with the natives. Dinner will be served to you, accompanied by the hill tribes’ culture dance (on supplement). Overnight at the monastery in Yasakyi Village.

Day 09 Trek back to Pindaya & visit. Drive to Inle (97 km/ 02:30 hours)

Early morning after breakfast we will mount the Mt. Yasakyi about 7000 ft above the sea level, the slot that offers you panoramic views. Then climb down and continue to trek to Mane Taung, Pinsein Pin, Htin shugon, Taung bawgyi and return to Pindaya. Upon arrival Pindaya, transfer and check in at the hotel. Visit to the Pindaya Caves - houses 8094 Buddha Images, umbrella workshop, which is made of pulp. Overnight at Pindaya.

Day 10 Drive to Inle (97 km /02:30 hours) and visit!

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Inle. On the way, visit Shweyanpye Monastery – typical Shan Monaster. Upon arrival Inle, transfer and check in at the hotel. Evening, enjoy canoe riding along the floating village and floating garden. Overnight at Inle.

Day 11 Excursion Inle

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Boat excursion on the lake. Visit colourful local market, Inn Dein pagodas in ruins covered by trees and bushes, floating gardens, floating villages, Lotus-petal robe & silk weaving looms at Inn Paw Khone village, Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda - the most venerable pagoda on the lake, jumping cats monastery, etc. Check in at the hotel and overnight at Inle Lake.

Day 12 Flight to Yangon.

Morning breakfast at the hotel.Transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival Yangon, transfer & check in at the hotel. Visit Bogyoke market [except on Monday] & china town. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 13 Departure

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Yangon International Airport for the departure flight.
